Everett Alfred Adams, 83, of Hilo died Aug. 8 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in San Francisco, he was a retired salesman for 3M-Hawaii and a U.S. Marine Corps staff sergeant during the Korean War. Valentina “Tina” Mahuna, 86, of Waimea died Aug. 29 at home. Born in Laupahoehoe, she was a retired cook for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, worked at KFC in Waimea and was a member of Alu Like. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Burial at Kukaiau County Cemetery. Survived by son, Calvert D. Mahuna of Waimea; daughters, Valarie Ann Santos of Reno, Nev., and Iris M.
